Today in the construction of houses, building materials are being produced more and more requirements. One of the most important is a reasonable ratio of quality and price availability. People begin to save, prefer to build their own. Manufacturers, in order not to lose customers trying to meet the demand and fill the market with inexpensive, but effective product.

The foam was a great solution to pressing problems. Positioned as a budget replacement brick, he surpassed it on many operational factors. However, simple production process and low cost, led to its wide dissemination in the private and industrial construction.

Our service offers you a simple and intuitive calculator calculate concrete blocks for house construction. You wouldn't want to face the problem of lack of material, extra trips to the store, especially at the end of construction and if you don't have personal transport. Use it and do not overpay extra money for excess material which is unlikely to get back.

All data are taken from normative documents such as GOST 21520-89 "Blocks of cellular concrete wall small", GOST 25485-89 "cellular Concrete", GOST 31360-2007 "wall unreinforced Products of cellular autoclave concrete".

Using the calculator blocks

In order to correctly calculate the foam block on the house with the help of our online calculator, you do not need to have any special knowledge, with calculations, even for novice builders. You only need to complete a minimum number of fields, without which calculation would, in principle, impossible.

Parameters and price of the unit:

  • size (choose one of the main formats according to GOST or specify your own);
  • mark in density (from 300 to 1200 kg/m3);
  • price, RUB.

As foam concrete is a very brittle material and poorly protected from mechanical damage, we recommend that you take stock in the marriage fight, and trimming at 10%.

Characteristics of the walls:

  • the total length of walls, m (with the same thickness of masonry);
  • the height of the walls at the corners, m;
  • the option of laying (mesh blocks are almost always put in half);
  • the thickness and form of the solution in the masonry (mortar, adhesive).

Many manufacturers do not advise you to use masonry grid, because according to their assurances, the material is quite durable and does not require additional strengthening. However, experienced professionals have a different opinion and offer reinforced masonry every 3-4 rows.

If you need a rough calculation of only the box of the building, you don't want to consider doors, Windows, lintels and other structural elements - click "Calculate".

The output of the calculator calculate concrete blocks for a building will be many indicators, the most useful only the main ones:

  • the number of blocks in 1 m3 and their price;
  • the total volume of blocks, their quantity and price;
  • the volume of the solution, its weight and the equivalent in the container.

If necessary, use all the other units of the calculator. To include section, click "Add".

About the foam

Foam – a type of lightweight cellular concrete having a porous structure, in the form of closed voids distributed throughout the volume. Made of autoclave and non-autoclave method from a mixture of cement, water and foaming agent. Currently mostly only used the second method of production.

The history of creation

According to historical records, the first rudiments of foam appeared in the XIX century. Builders have noticed that when blood in a cement-lime mortar the reaction begins, a large amount of foam, and the resulting material is lightweight and has high strength. But due to lack of volunteers and donors, technology has not received the further spread.

Rebirth foam experienced in the 30-ies of XX century. Then, the Soviet scientist of the Abdomens of A. A., he said – "by chance," added soap root in cement mortar. This cooking method was so effective that soon was patented. The country has established production and began to build the first houses of new material. However, after the death of the Professor and the identified deficiencies autoclaved blocks, development has slowed considerably.

The third time, the foam is still universally recognized, and had on 90-e years. A large number of small and medium enterprises who wanted to capitalize on the wave of growing private construction. Prices for brick, stone and wood grown strongly enough, and then it all reminded me of the foam blocks. Manufacturing technology has progressed considerably and simplified. With inexpensive aerators, mixes the mixture was saturated with air, othermovies and left until fully cured. In compliance with the methodology, the units worked high strength with excellent thermal insulation characteristics.

Advantages and disadvantages

Any material has a set of unique characteristics that define its purpose, application, strengths and weaknesses.

Advantages:

  • low thermal conductivity, resistance to temperature changes;
  • good soundproofing;
  • high strength, it is possible to build 2-3-4-storey houses;
  • fire safety and fire resistance;
  • light weight, significantly reducing the load on the Foundation;
  • ease of processing;
  • significantly increases the speed of construction due to the large size of the blocks;
  • one of the cheapest building materials.

Disadvantages:

  • fragility, very often break away corners of the blocks and cracks, careless transportation;
  • is destroyed under the influence of moisture is required exterior and interior finish;
  • significant shrinkage in the first month;
  • a large number of unscrupulous manufacturers that do not comply with technology.

Specifications

The range of application of foam concrete blocks is extremely wide. They are used to build load-bearing walls, interior walls, as insulation or soundproofing. Each format stands out for certain characteristics that determine its purpose.

Main parameters:

  • density (300-1200 kg/m3);

Are divided into grades according to density with the prefix D and divided into categories by their purpose:

  • insulation (D300-500);
  • structural-insulating (D600-900);
  • structural (D1000-1200);

Density determines all the following properties of the blocks.

  • coefficient of thermal conductivity (0.09-0.34 W/(m·°C));
  • compressive strength (9-90 kg/cm2);

Are divided into classes according to compressive strength (B0.5-B12.5).

With other properties you can see in the table below.

On arrival to the hardware store and a chance to see this format of blocks tends to zero. This is because not every company will agree to such an order, because you can be missing the molding of containers of the required size.

Behind the scenes, there are only a few basic blocks for walls, which makes most companies:

  • 600х300х200 mm – the most common block found everywhere;
  • 600х300х250 mm;
  • 600х400х200 mm.

For partitions:

  • 600х300х100 mm;
  • 600х300х150 mm.

There are also other sizes that each manufacturer sets its own and its prevalence depends on the company's production.

In GOST 21520-89 said on this subject: it is allowed according to customer agreed with the design organisation, manufacturing units of other sizes. So, in essence, a single list of dimensions in the document is not mandatory and is only a recommendation.

Calculate the number of blocks on the house manually

Roughly calculate the amount of foam concrete blocks can own. You will need a calculator, a piece of paper and a certain amount of time.

We define the condition:

  • a square house with the length of the wall is 12 m and height 2.7 m;
  • clutch half of the unit, standard format 600х300х200 mm.

The method of calculation is based on the knowledge of the areas of all walls and surfaces of one block. After we calculate these characteristics, that will be the case for small, need to divide two numbers and the result you have on hand.

  • the area of the walls
    • the length of the wall 12 x 4 = 48 m;
    • 48 m x 2.7 m = 129.6 m2;
    • the lateral surface area of the block
      • multiply the length by the height;
      • 600 mm x 200 m = 120 000 mm2 or 0.12 m2;
      • 129.6 m2 / 0.12 m2 = 1080 blocks.

For reliability, we will add 3% to the stock and receive 1112 blocks. If you are unsure of our calculator foam blocks for building a house, conduct a similar exercise using the service and compare the results.
